We are seeking a Bank Support Assistant to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Berners Street has 12 one-bed flats, supporting single, homeless adults aged 18-65 year olds and helping them to gain the skills required to move on and live independently in the community. This is a rewarding opportunity, and applicants with excellent interpersonal skills and an empathetic nature would be encouraged to apply.

The role of Bank Support Assistant will include:

  • Providing a high quality , hands-on support service
  • Supporting residents to build the confidence they need to gain further independence
  • Encouraging residents to develop their daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and being part of their community
  • Working with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve the best outcome for our residents
  • Maintaining a safe environment for residents, providing support in accordance with relevant regulations, procedures and practices

Skills and experiences:

  • Ideally you will have experience of working with vulnerable people, however candidates with enthusiasm, a real passion for the role and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply
  • You will be empathetic and non-judgmental with a positive approach to managing challenging behaviour
  • A positive, ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, listening and time management skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
