Catering Assistant – Part Time

Montague Road Nursing Home, Felixstowe

£8.21 to £8.64 per hour (dependent on qualifications) Subject to April 2020 Pay Review

13 hours per week

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Catering Assistant to maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen at Montague Road Nursing Home whilst assisting with meal preparation and, ensuring the dietary requirements of our residents are met.

Montague Road Nursing Home supports people with mental health needs and/or dementia in a homely environment with personalised care and support. Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly, open manner are essential for success in this role.

The role of Catering Assistant will include:

  • Helping to prepare and serve meals and drinks, following food hygiene standards and ensuring the needs of our residents are met
  • Undertaking general duties as assigned, such as maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen
  • Identifying and reporting potential faults and hazards on site, to maintain a safe environment
  • Maintaining stock levels, restocking as required and ensuring equipment is used in line with guidance notes
  • Interacting with our residents on a daily basis

Skills and experiences:

  • Experience isn’t essential as we support our staff with excellent training opportunities so this could be the start of your catering career
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills
  • A general understanding of health and safety in the work place
  • Hold a Level 2 Diploma in housekeeping/catering or willingness to work towards
