Project Worker – Temporary position for up to 6 months

Horlend Court, Barrow-In-Furness, to also cover Monkswell, Kendal

£8.99 per hour (rising to £9.47 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)

35 hours per week

We are seeking a Project Worker to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Horlend Court is a housing management service delivering housing related support.

Monkswell Kendal is a Housing management service where we offer 8 tenants support to sustain their tenancy delivering housing related support.

The role of Project Worker will include:

  • Undertaking all housing management tasks within the accommodation service
  • Helping to develop clients daily living skills, including budget planning and paying their rent
  • Supporting to encourage client choice and involvement
  • Assessing clients needs, writing and updating support plans
  • Working with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of the clients, actively encouraging choice and involvement, or acting as an advocate when required

Skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience of working with clients with learning disabilities
  • A sound knowledge of housing management including voids and arrears management and an understanding of occupancy agreements
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, listening and time management skills
  • The ability to work on your own initiative as you will be required to source innovative solutions to problems that allow residents independence to be enhanced
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or similar
