£9.66 per hour (rising to £10.17 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Bank Project Worker to join our Colchester homelessness service team. You will be joining a team who are passionate about their roles and providing excellent support to our clients. This is a rewarding position, in which you will be empowering our clients to succeed through developing positive professional relationships.

This position will be part of our new service, which is one the first of its kind and part of an exciting venture with Housing First, will provide housing along with intensive support to those with complex needs, including drug and alcohol addictions, mental health and other needs. There are no care packages, however the scheme provides 24 hour support for the 4 individuals as and when required.

The role of Bank Project Worker will include:

  • Regular key working and support planning, ensuring that relevant support is provided to enable and empower our clients to maximise their own potential and level of independence
  • Assessing clients needs, writing and updating support plans
  • Working with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of the clients, actively encouraging choice and involvement, or acting as an advocate when required

Skills and experiences:

  • A sound knowledge of housing management including voids and arrears management and an understanding of occupancy agreements
  • Experience and knowledge with housing tenancy law, housing benefit reform and rents/income
  • The ability to work on your own initiative as you will be required to source innovative solutions to problems that allow residents independence to be enhanced
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or similar
