Defoe Court, Epsom, Surrey

£9.89 per hour (rising to £10.39 after 12 months service, subject to satisfactory performance)

At Defoe Court, we help young people with complex needs to achieve good physical and emotional health, and to improve their well-being and quality of life. We have a great opportunity for Bank Project Workers to join our enthusiastic team and provide support to our clients. You will have passion and drive and enable our young people to achieve their potential and live more independently within their community

The role of Project Worker will include:

  • Ensuring relevant support is provided to enable our clients to reach their own potential and level of independence
  • Regular key working and support planning, developing a high quality, person centred service
  • Assessing clients’ needs and writing or updating support plans
  • Developing professional working relationships with statutory and non-statutory agencies, acting as an advocate when required
  • Actively encouraging choice and involvement with day to day life skills such as social interaction within the community

Skills and experiences:

  • Experience of working with a relevant client group
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and source innovative solutions for complex circumstances
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills allowing you to build strong working relationships
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or similar
  • Literacy and numeracy equivalent to at least GCSE Grade C in English and Maths, is essential
  • NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards, is essential
