Project Worker – Temporary position for up to 10 months

Heygate Avenue, Southend on Sea

£9.44 per hour (rising to £9.94 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)

26.5 hours per week – shifts between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday

Heygate Avenue is a housing management service for young parents between the ages of 16-25 years. We have a great opportunity for a Project Worker with passion and drive to provide support, enabling our clients with a range of complex needs to achieve their potential and live more independently within their community. You will use your skills to work with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve the best outcome for our clients.

The role of Project Worker will include:

  • Ensuring relevant support is provided to enable our clients to maximise their own potential and level of independence
  • Assessing clients’ needs
  • Regularly writing and updating support plans
  • Working with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of the clients
  • Actively encouraging choice and involvement, or acting as an advocate when required

Skills and experiences:

  • A sound knowledge of housing management including voids and arrears management
  • An understanding of occupancy agreements
  • The ability to work on your own initiative as you will be required to source innovative solutions to problems that allow residents independence to be enhanced
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or similar
