Project Worker

Torbay Domestic Abuse Service, based at Woodview House, Paignton

£17,942 per (rising to £18,886 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)

37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm

We are looking for an individual with the passion and drive to help our clients achieve independent living and become involved in education, training, employment or volunteering. Ideally, you will have experience of working with people at risk of domestic violence. If you want to make a positive impact to people’s lives, this is a rewarding opportunity to come and work within an established and experienced team.

The role of Project Worker will include:

  • Regularly writing and updating support plans to ensure relevant support is provided to clients
  • Supporting clients with their daily living skills and engaging with work and training opportunities in the local community
  • Delivering a perpetrator programme two days a week in addition to other programmes as required
  • Working with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of the clients, actively encouraging choice and involvement, or acting as an advocate when required

Skills and experiences:

  • Experience of working within domestic abuse and an understanding of the complex needs of domestic abuse, would be advantageous.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and source innovative solutions for complex circumstances
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills allowing you to build strong working relationships
  • An understanding of occupancy agreements is desirable
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or similar

Travel across Torbay may be a requirement of the role due to local travel to meet clients; therefore a full, current driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.
