Volunteer Positions
Southwood House, Wellingborough

Various hours available – 5-10 hours per week

We are looking for people with passion to join our friendly team as volunteers. Southwood House is a residential service supporting people who have physical and learning disabilities. We pride ourselves on treating people as individuals so all of our residents have care plans tailored to their individual medical, social and emotional needs. We have a great team of staff who wish to see our residents attend more activities in the community.

At Southwood House, we are looking for empathetic and confident individuals to join our team on a voluntary basis, taking residents out on community activities and spending time with them within the home. The role will involve driving our clients to a range of activities, and assisting with events such as BBQs.

You will play a key role in enabling our clients to be independent and encouraging them to engage within the local community, enhancing their quality of life. We are looking for volunteers who feel rewarded when assisting others in their enjoyment and have excellent communication skills, allowing rapport to be built with clients.

Ideally, you will have previous experience of working with vulnerable adults. However, many different experiences can be useful and relevant to our work, so anyone who possesses the above and shows a willingness to volunteer within a care and supported living environment is encouraged to apply.

Please note that the volunteer will ideally hold a full, valid driving licence including a D1 (vehicles will be provided), but this is not essential.
