Bank Support Assistant

Avalon House, Cannock

£8.68 per hour (rising to £9.14 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)

Avalon House is a small scheme with 6 self contained flats, offering support to 6 tenants with mental health and or learning disabilities. We provide a minimum of three hours of personal care and support a week to vulnerable adults with low to medium support needs. Our structured package of tailored support uses the Star Model to agree a personalised support plan helping residents to identify their needs and aspirations. The role of Bank Support Assistant will include:

  • Enabling and empowering clients by providing a high quality, hands on and person-centred care and support service
  • Supporting clients to develop their daily living skills including cooking, cleaning, shopping and being an active part of the community
  • Sourcing innovative solutions to problems that allow clients independence to be maximised
  • Working with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve the best outcome for our clients

Skills and experiences:

  • Experience of working with vulnerable people is ideal, however, candidates with enthusiasm, real passion and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to be assertive will be key to your success
  • Ability to prioritise and organise workload, calling upon your strong organisational skills
  • Good listening skills and the ability to solve problems, allowing you to form positive relationships with people
