Project Worker

Lightfoot House, Birmingham

£9.20 per hour (rising to £9.69 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)

37.5 hours per week

We are seeking a Project Worker to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Lightfoot House provides housing and support for vulnerable adults with physical disabilities and learning disabilities. This is a rewarding opportunity to come and work within an established and experienced team.

The role of Project Worker will include:

  • Regular key working and support planning sessions to ensure relevant support is provided, enabling our residents to maximise their own potential and encourage a level of independence
  • Ensuring independent living tasks, such as shopping and cooking are completed
  • Making sure health care appointments are up to date and supporting residents to attend them
  • Supporting clients with benefit application and management
  • Liaising with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of residents
  • Managing any safeguarding or serious incidents
  • Supporting other members of staff when they have problems or concerns
  • Support with review / tenancy meetings

Skills and experiences:

  • The ability to work on your own initiative as you will be required to source innovative solutions to problems that allow clients’ independence to be enhanced
  • Previous experience of working within a similar environment, ideally with clients who have physical and/ or learning disabilities
  • A sound knowledge of housing management including voids and arrears management and an understanding of occupancy agreements
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to keep accurate records
