Waking Night Support Assistant – Part Time

£8.68 per hour (rising to £9.14 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance) Subject to April 2020 Pay Review

We are seeking a Waking Night Support Assistant to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Set in the heart of Ketley Millennium Village, Oleander House has 12 one-bedroom apartments. We provide care and support for adults aged 18-65, with a range of learning disabilities and encourage them to develop their skills and live as independently as possible.

The role of Waking Night Support Assistant will include:
- Maintaining a safe environment for residents, providing support in accordance with relevant regulations, procedures and practices
- Responding to calls should a resident need support in an emergency
- Conducting bed calls and morning calls to a high standard
- As a night position, the amount of hands-on care you will be providing is minimal
- Working in a team of 3 Waking Night staff
Skills and experiences:
- Previous experience working in care, ideally with clients who have learning disabilities, would be advantageous
- A caring, approachable nature and a confident ‘can-do’ attitude
- Ability to keep accurate records and clearly communicate relevant information to team members
- Literacy and numeracy equivalent to at least GCSE Grade C English and Mathematics, is essential
- NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards, is desirable
