Waking Night Support Assistant – Part Time

Oleander House, Telford

£8.68 per hour (rising to £9.14 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)

20 hours per week – 2 x 10 hour shifts on a rolling 2 week rota, to include weekends and bank holidays

We are seeking a Waking Night Support Assistant to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Oleander House is a purpose-built development offering single apartments for 12 adults with learning disabilities and/or an acquired brain injury. The role of Waking Night Support Assistant will include:

  • Maintaining a safe environment for residents, providing support in accordance with relevant regulations, procedures and practices
  • Responding to calls should a resident need support in an emergency
  • Conducting bed calls and morning calls to a high standard
  • As a night position, the amount of hands-on care you will be providing is minimal
  • Working in a team of 3 Waking Night staff

Skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience working in care, ideally with clients who have learning disabilities, would be advantageous
  • A caring, approachable nature and a confident ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Ability to keep accurate records and clearly communicate relevant information to team members
  • Literacy and numeracy equivalent to at least GCSE Grade C English and Mathematics, is essential
  • NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards, is desirable
