Ipswich and Felixstowe Homelessness Supported Housing has four schemes spread across Ipswich and Felixstowe. We provide support for homeless young people aged 16 to 21, as well as single homeless adults aged 18 to 65.

Three schemes in quiet residential areas within Ipswich town centre, and one within walking distance of Felixstowe town centre and the seafront. All schemes have easy access to local amenities and public transport links.

A fourteen-bedroom hostel and four one-bedroom flats at Anglesea Road; 12 one-bedroom flats and a two-bedroom shared flat at Berners Street; three one-bedroom flats and six two-bedroom shared flats at Langley Close, and a three-bedroom shared house at Cecil Road.

All bedrooms in shared houses are let on a licence agreement and all one and two-bedroom apartments are let on an assured shorthold tenancy agreement.

Communal spaces in the hostel and shared house include kitchen, dining areas and gardens.

Staff office on-site, CCTV and a secure door access system all help to ensure residents' safety and security.


Support planning

Staff draw up a personalised support plan with residents using the Outcomes Star model.

Staff availability

Our highly-trained staff are on-site during office hours. There is an overnight concierge service at Anglesea Road and Langley Close. All residents have access to an out-of-hours telephone service, should they need further support.

Tailored support, advice and assistance includes

  • Maintaining a tenancy
  • Managing finances (budgeting and benefits)
  • Cooking, cleaning and shopping
  • Building positive relationships
  • Accessing education, training and work
  • Dealing with correspondence
  • Socialising and community involvement
  • Maintaining health, safety and security
  • Signposting and accessing other services
  • Planning a successful move-on

To be eligible for a place at Ipswich and Felixstowe Homelessness Supported Housing, applicants must:

  • Be aged 16 to 65
  • Be homeless or at risk of homelessness
  • Have a recognised support need

How to apply

We accept referrals from Suffolk County Council's Housing Related Services. To apply, visit Suffolk County Council's website and search for 'housing help and support'. All support needs will be assessed before an application is accepted.
