At Kent Floating Support, we provide accessible, high-quality housing-related support to people aged 16 and over, who live in one of the following areas of Kent: Dartford, Gravesham, Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Malling, Tunbridge Wells, Ashford, Canterbury, Dover, Shepway, Swale and Thanet.

Support planning

Staff assist clients to create a personalised support plan, to identify their personal goals and take the steps needed to become more independent. We support people that live in their own homes as well as supporting homeless people in the community. Our support is flexible and personalised to individual needs.

Staff availability

Our highly-trained staff provide housing-related support five days a week, during office hours. We provide weekly contact, but this can vary to suit the client’s needs.

We can support with

  • Managing housing-related issues such as homelessness, evictions and re-settlement 
  • Securing and maintaining a tenancy
  • Transitioning to a new tenancy
  • Moving on from supported accommodation
  • Finding suitable accommodation
  • Applying for accommodation via social or private landlords
  • Signposting and accessing other services
  • Managing finances (budgeting and benefits)

Eligibility

To be eligible for support from Kent Floating Support, applicants must be aged 16 or over and meet one of the following criteria:

  • At risk of becoming homeless (threat of eviction)
  • Transitioning to a new tenancy
  • In need of help to avoid the risk of becoming homeless
  • A young person leaving care (up to age 25)
  • A teenage parent (up to age 21)

All applicants must live in one of the following areas of Kent: Dartford, Gravesham, Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Malling, Tunbridge Wells, Ashford, Canterbury, Dover, Shepway, Swale and Thanet.

How to apply

Referrals are made via Kent County Council’s Central Referral System (CRS). To apply, please complete the Kent County Council online referral form
