Bury St Edmunds Homeless Supported Housing has multiple services in the town: Bracondale, Grove Park, Springfield Road and Northgate Street. We provide support for adults aged 18 to 64, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Six properties spread across Bury St Edmunds, all within walking distance of shops, restaurants, parks, colleges, cinemas and public transport links.

A total of 16 single-occupancy bedrooms, 11 en-suite bedrooms, five studio flats, nine one-bedroom flats and four short stay emergency accommodation (SSEA) rooms.

Staff office on-site, CCTV and a secure door access system to ensure residents’ safety and security.

Support planning

Staff draw up a personalised support plan with residents using the Homelessness Outcomes Star model, to help them achieve their aims and goals.

Staff availability

Our highly trained staff are on-site various hours to suit residents’ needs. There is an overnight concierge service seven days a week at all services, as well as an out-of-hours telephone service, should residents require any further support.

  • Maintaining a tenancy
  • Managing finances (budgeting and benefits)
  • Dealing with correspondence
  • Accessing education, training and work
  • Cooking, cleaning and shopping
  • Building confidence, resilience and self-esteem
  • Developing hobbies and interests
  • Maintaining health, safety and security
  • Signposting and accessing other services
  • Planning a successful move-on

Additional support services

We also provide follow-on support when residents move on to live independently.

To be eligible for a place at Bury St Edmunds Homelessness Supported Housing, applicants must:

  • Be aged 18 to 64
  • Be homeless or at risk of homelessness
  • Have identifiable support needs
  • Be committed to engaging with staff

To apply, please complete the Housing Related Support application form on the Suffolk County Council website.

All support needs will be assessed before an application is accepted.
