Richard House has 10 bedrooms in a shared house and a one-bedroom apartment. We provide support for adults aged 18 to 64, with a range of mental health needs, encouraging them to develop their skills and live as independently as possible.

Staff office on-site, CCTV and a secure door access system help to ensure residents’ safety and security.

The bedrooms are let on a licence agreement and the one-bedroom apartment is let on an assured shorthold tenancy agreement.


Support planning

Staff draw up a personalised support plan with residents using the Mental Health Recover Star model.

Staff availability

Our highly-trained staff are on-site various hours, seven days a week, to suit residents’ needs. There is an out-of-hours telephone service, should residents require any further support.

Additional support services

We also provide follow-on support when residents move on to live independently, as well as offering floating support to people living in the local area.

To be eligible for a place at Richard House, applicants must:

  • Be aged 18 to 64
  • Have a diagnosed mental health need

How to apply

To begin the application process, please speak to your Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) or mental health team. We are unable to accept direct applications. All support needs will be assessed before an application is accepted.
