Heat is on for charity bake-off

18 September 2018

A Bicester supported housing service is hoping to “self-raise” some funds for cancer charity Macmillan with a sale of homemade cakes.

The event will take place on Friday 28 September.

Sanctuary Supported Living’s Oxford House, on King’s End, is inviting the public in from 10am to 12 noon Friday 28 September as they take part in Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

The event was organised by Danica Du Plooy, a resident at the service, which provides supported accommodation for young people and young parents aged 16 to 25.

Visitors will be able to enjoy a morning of cake sales, games, snacks and residents competing in a bake-off, which will see entries judged by one of the support team at Oxford House.

Sanctuary Supported Living residents play a key role in the development of their service, helping to shape events and activities.

Danica said: “Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is a great way of raising money for cancer research and this year I had my own ideas on new ways we could do that.

I’m really looking forward to the event and am grateful to staff for helping to get it off the ground.

The event is free to attend, open to all and no prior booking is required. For more information, contact Oxford House on 01869 229384.
