Morgan Lecheminant is ready to pursue his goal of becoming a personal trainer after taking inspiration from two elite athletes.

Morgan, a resident at Sanctuary Supported Living’s Brighton and Hove Foyer, has been taking part in Get on Track, an initiative being run in partnership between Sanctuary Supported Living and the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust.

As part of a larger group at the Foyer, Morgan has been mentored by former boxer Hannah Beharry and Fontaine Wright, one of England’s leading badminton players, in sessions to promote work-related skills and teamwork.

“I have learned leadership skills and engage more with other residents and staff,” Morgan said. “I have learned how to be more confident and to persist in my efforts.”

Since enrolling on Get on Track, Morgan has taken steps to realise his dream, including meeting with a personal trainer.

“I learned a lot from him,” Morgan added. “The Get on Track course gave me the confidence to approach him. I feel more confident and I believe that I can be a personal trainer.”

Morgan has also seen his sleep patterns improve, getting to bed and waking up earlier.

Neil Hall, deputy local service manager, commented: “Morgan has attended every week and shown amazing leadership skills, as well as being a supportive and caring team member. I am so proud to have seen his development within the programme.”

I have learned how to be more confident and to persist in my efforts.
