Mansfield MP visits ‘Outstanding’ service

11 October 2019

Mansfield MP Ben Bradley has visited a care home for people with learning disabilities to hear about the experiences of residents.

Sanctuary Supported Living’s Corner House, on St Margaret Street in Mansfield, welcomed the MP as part of its work supporting the Starts At Home campaign.

Run by the National Housing Federation, the campaign highlights the work done in the supported housing sector and the positive effect it has on people’s lives.

Residents at Corner House, which was rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission in its latest inspection, chatted with Mr Bradley and shared stories about the care they receive.

Sanctuary Supported Living head of growth and business development David Shaw said: “Corner House is one of a growing number of our CQC-registered services that have been picking up Outstanding ratings over the past month, so we were very excited to make the most of the opportunity to discuss the phenomenal work they do with Mr Bradley.

“Corner House residents have always been very socially minded and relished the chance to share their experiences; we’re all very grateful to him for taking the time to visit.”

Ben Bradley MP said: “I had a wonderful time meeting everyone at Corner House and learning about how its model of personalised care benefits residents.

“It was great to hear firsthand from residents about their thoughts on the care they receive and see Corner House from their perspective.”
