Acton supported living service rated ‘Good’ by the CQC
A Sanctuary Supported Living service in Acton has received a ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following a recent inspection.
Ealing Care Services, also known as Cumberland Park, is a supported living service where staff are on-site 24 hours a day to provide personal care and support for residents with mental health needs. Residents each have their own one-bedroom or studio apartment, and receive support to help them live as independently as possible, such as with daily living skills, maintaining their tenancy and managing finances.
In the report, the CQC inspector said that ‘staff were respectful of people's wishes and preferences’ and that ‘people's independence was promoted’.
The report also noted that staff supported residents to have ‘maximum choice and control of their lives’. One resident told the inspector: “Whatever you need, they can help you with. They know what they’re doing, and they have a lot of experience.”
Sharon Johnson, Local Service Manager, said: “At Ealing Care Services, our priority is making sure that residents feel safe, supported and able to live as independently as they want. It’s wonderful to have this recognised by the CQC.”
