‘Good’ CQC rating for Middlesbrough supported living service
Staff and residents at a Sanctuary Supported Living service in Middlesbrough are celebrating after receiving a ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The Shore, also known as Ellerbeck Court, a supported living service in Ormesby, Middlesbrough, provides personal care and support for adults with learning disabilities.
The CQC’s report noted that people were treated with ‘dignity and respect’ and were supported to have ‘as many opportunities as possible for them to gain new skills and become more independent.’
One visiting professional told the CQC inspector: “The care for the service users really shines through. Staff are really interested in people progressing, it's refreshing to see when you go, it's all really good.”
Rebekah McClelland, Local Service Manager for The Shore, said: “As a team, we work hard to make The Shore a caring and supportive place to live, where residents can develop their strengths and live as independently as possible. We’re very proud that this has been recognised by the CQC”.
