Ready Steady Grow gardeners earn top spot
The winners of Sanctuary Supported Living’s Ready Steady Grow contest have been revealed.

Residents from around the country have been taking part in the competition across two categories – Garden to Plate and Heaviest Harvest – with four winners being named:
- Greenwich Care Services, Greenwich (Garden to Plate – registered services and retirement living).
- James Brown from Chinook, Colchester (Garden to Plate – mental health, young people and homeless services)
- High Worple, Harrow (Heaviest Harvest – registered services and retirement living)
- The Maples, Barnstaple (Heaviest Harvest – mental health, young people and homeless services)
The Garden to Plate category recognised effort in growing fresh produce which was then used to create a healthy, tasty meal, while Heaviest Harvest awarded the largest amounts of high-quality fruit and veg.
As well as boosting the residents’ gardening and cookery skills, the Ready Steady Grow competition aimed to encourage social interaction and improve mental health through physical activity.
