Join our National Resident Scrutiny Panel

17 March 2021

A message from Graham Jones, Chair of National Resident Scrutiny Panel.

Our National Resident Scrutiny Panel (NRSP) is keen that its work helping Sanctuary to shape better services reflects a diverse range of residents’ experiences.

We are looking to recruit several new members. Could you be one of them?

The NRSP has a vital role in helping shape services and holding Sanctuary to account.  From safety to the quality of your homes, from communication to acting on complaints, NRSP acts as a critical friend, both challenging and championing Sanctuary’s performance.

The panel meets formally each quarter with Operations Directors responsible for delivery of services across Sanctuary Housing, Sanctuary Supported Living and Sanctuary Maintenance.  Members of the NRSP have the opportunity to ask questions and influence decisions that affect all residents living in a Sanctuary home.

Members also meet more informally each month to discuss the work of the resident-led Communities of Interest or other topical items such as the recently published Social Housing White Paper: The Charter for Social Housing Residents.

We are looking to complement our existing membership with new voices, particularly those we haven’t heard from before.

You will need to be comfortable reading reports and confident in expressing your views. We ask that you can commit around one to two days a month (spread over the month) and be flexible, as this could include both daytime and evenings.

You will be provided with an exciting and structured induction. This will include virtual training sessions and mentoring, as well as getting to know our organisation and the services we provide.

We recognise everyone is individual and may need different kinds of support to be involved so please make sure that you let us know how we can best help you when completing the short questionnaire

There is more information about the work of the NRSP on the Sanctuary Housing website where you can also find information about the other ways you could get involved too.
