National Resident Scrutiny Panel elects new Chair

24 February 2021

Graham Jones has been elected as the new Chair of Sanctuary’s National Resident Scrutiny Panel (NRSP)

Graham, whose appointment was confirmed by the NRSP on 18 February, takes over from Wendy Burridge following the completion of her two three-year terms at the helm.

Bob Werrett was also elected as Vice-Chair to work alongside Graham in leading the panel’s role of holding Sanctuary to account for its Housing and Supported Living services.

The panel comprises four other resident representatives – Clare Denton, Terry Gill, Dylan Asphar and Jean McDonnell – and meets quarterly with senior Housing staff. It’s our intention to see the panel double in size by the end of this year.

Graham, who will also represent the NRSP on the Group Housing Committee, said: “It’s a privilege to be appointed as the new NRSP Chair and I am looking forward to the challenge.

“Residents should expect the highest standard of service possible from Sanctuary and Bob and myself will do all we can to make sure this remains the case.

“I would also like to thank Wendy for her commitment over the past six years in making the NRSP the strong and effective force it is today.”

Simon Clark, Group Director – Housing, added: “The NRSP plays a vital role in shaping the services Sanctuary provides and we are proud of the job they do.

“It has been a pleasure to work with Wendy and I am sure Graham will continue to build on her efforts in his new role as Chair.”
