Fresh look for Mansfield care home after remodelling and refurbishment works

2 August 2018

A residential care home for people with learning disabilities in Mansfield has a new lease of life following remodelling and refurbishment works.

Sanctuary Supported Living’s (SSL) Corner House has undergone a six-month refurbishment which included an extension, internal and external decoration, floor coverings and an energy-efficient heating and hot water distribution system.

En-suite bathrooms have also been installed in the home’s bedrooms in a change that provides residents with more independence and privacy.

Residents at Corner House receive personalised care, tailored to their individual needs. As part of the refurbishment work, wifi technology has also been installed in the home, which will allow for electronic care planning.

This means residents can now review their care plan at any time with their own online log-in, instead of waiting for the next meeting with their care worker.

Tony O’Neill, head of commercial assets for Sanctuary, commented: “Corner House is one of our older schemes and the remodelling works is another example to showcase our commitment to improving quality and sustainability of our homes for the benefit of our residents.”

This refurbishment means residents are able to enjoy a modern, comfortable home and, most importantly, have newfound privacy with their en suite facilities.

SSL Local Services Manager, Jo Hardwick

“The electronic care planning will add an extra level of convenience for both residents and staff to keep track of their personalised plans.”
