Ellen improving her confidence with Get on Track
Ellen Watson has seen her confidence soar since enrolling on the Get on Track programme.
Ellen, who lives at Sanctuary Supported Living’s Norton Road scheme in Stockton on Tees, has been involved in a number of team building activities as part of the initiative.
Get on Track is a partnership between the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust and Sanctuary Supported Living, and has seen Ellen and her fellow residents mentored by former Olympic swimmer James Kirton and Commonwealth Games badminton player Jenny Wallwork.
Ellen has enjoyed meeting new people of a similar age and has thrived in the activities, particularly the ice skating as it helped keep her mind occupied.
She said: “Attending the Get on Track programme has given me confidence and made me feel good, I like being part of a team and being ‘egged on’ to finish activities.
“I feel good and confident and I like to encourage others to do well.”
Ellen has been able to sleep better following her involvement in 'Get on Track' and has also seen an improvement in her routine.
She also regularly speaks to scheme staff to tell them about her day and how good it makes her feel.
I feel good and confident and I like to encourage others to do well.
