Help make a fresh start with your unwanted items
A supported housing service in Hull is launching a campaign to collect essentials for vulnerable people and families who are ready to move into new accommodation after facing homelessness.
Donnington Court, a Sanctuary Supported Living homelessness and domestic abuse service, is working in partnership with the Hull Homeless Community Project to collect items that will help the people they support to make a fresh start.
Their residents, who have often arrived at the service with nothing, urgently require donations of dinner sets, kettles, toasters, cutlery, kitchen utensils and bedding for their new homes.
No longer needed furnishings such as cushions, throws, lamp shades, rugs, coffee tables, TV units, canvas prints and curtains are also very welcome.
Denise Masike, local service manager at Donnington Court, said: “When residents are moving out, the one thing that worries them is that their new home will be really bare and unwelcoming.
“Your kind donations can really make all the difference while they make a fresh start and we thank you in advance for your support.”
All items should all be in a good condition. For safety reasons, electrical items and bedding must be new.
