Public donations could help homeless families in Hull
Shoppers in Hull can drop off donations to help homeless families get back on their feet following a partnership between a supported housing service, a local charity and a city supermarket.
Sanctuary Supported Living’s Donnington Court, which provides supported accommodation for homeless families, is on the hunt for bedding, clothes and toys after a sudden influx left staff with 30 children to support at the service.
The Hull Homeless Community Project has since stepped in, sourced donations and offered the service use of its collection cages, which are currently hosted at the St Stephen’s branch of Tesco in the city centre, for further offerings.
Local Service Manager Denise Masike, said: "The help from The Hull Homeless Charity Project could help make all the difference for our residents."

“Our staff provide support to help families who have been made homeless get back on their feet, as well as source vital supplies. When you have a sudden intake – such as this one – however, extra donations are always welcome to help get those families the supplies they need quickly.”
The St Stephen’s branch of Tesco is open 24 hours Monday to Saturday and 11:00am to 5:00pm on Sundays. Donations of replacement bedding, toys and children’s clothing are all welcomed.
