A person supportively holds an outstretched hand.

I thought this month I would write about some tips for improving your mental health which has helped me. So here they are:

  • No matter how much you are struggling, always remember you are not alone. There is always someone you can talk to who will understand and help you.
  • Never give up, there is always light at the end of the tunnel. It may take a while for you to see it or believe it, but you will.
  • If you can, try and plan your day. Even if you don’t stick to your plan, it will help.
  • Whatever you achieve each day is enough. Even if it’s just getting up and getting washed and dressed.
  • Don’t beat yourself up if you have a bad day. It’s okay and you are not a failure.
  • If you have had a busy day, make sure you have a quiet day the next day to fully allow your mind to recover.
  • Make time to do the things you enjoy doing.
  • You are worth getting better.
  • Never judge yourself by other people. It is not a race to improve your mental health, everyone recovers at their own pace.

I hope these tips help you. May 2019 be a good year for you whatever it may bring.
