Support available for Mental Health Awareness Week
Residents in Witham can learn more about the help available for conditions like depression and anxiety as part of the national campaign Mental Health Awareness Week (MHAW).
Staff from Sanctuary Supported Living (SSL) services in the area will be on hand at Witham Library from 9am to 3pm on Wednesday 10 May to answer questions about mental health and how to access support.
The team will be gathered by an information stand, which will remain on display throughout the entirety of MHAW, running from Monday 8 to Sunday 14 May, allowing visitors to pick up information at any time.
SSL local service manager Jane Bruce said: “With the theme of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week is ‘Surviving vs Thriving’, there’s never been a better time to learn more about how you can improve your mental health.
“Our staff can offer confidential mental health advice, but we would encourage anyone to come along, even if only to learn how to get a better night’s sleep or how more exercise can improve your mental health.”

This year’s MHAW theme is ‘Surviving or Thriving?’ which aims to explore how people can help themselves, or be supported, to thrive through good mental health.
