Young mothers boost their mental health awareness
Young mothers in Grays, Essex have been getting together to learn about mental wellbeing and how to improve it.
Residents of Sanctuary Supported Living’s Ruth House took part in the evening event as part of Mental Health Awareness Week, which ran from 8 to 14 May 2017.
Using information sourced from MIND, the organiser of the national awareness week, residents learned how sleep and exercise contributes to mental wellbeing and held a quiz on which foods improved brain health.
Local service manager Kelly Cross said: “Mental health is a vitally important part of the wellbeing of our residents and so an event like Mental Health Awareness Week offers the perfect opportunity to focus on that.
We work with our residents to help them develop the skills they need to live independently, and having good mental health is vital to thriving in your own accommodation.
