Jenny Begley

Jenny Begley with a resident from Norman Russell House

Jenny Begley has spent her entire career working in health and social care, and has been with Sanctuary Supported Living since June 2015.”

Starting out initially as a support worker at Shaftesbury Court in Buckinghamshire, for the past two years, she has been the deputy local service manager at Norman Russell House in Milton Keynes.

The service provides support for adults with a range of mental health needs, as well as learning disabilities and autism, and Jenny specifically supports residents to manage their tenancies and develop the life skills needed to live independently.

Working with residents, she uses the Recovery Star model to support them along the road to improved mental health.

She has also forged links with the local JobCentre Plus to help people with autism and similar conditions find employment opportunities. In order to nurture that relationship, Jenny called on the support of a former resident (pictured right) at Norman Russell House who has since successfully moved into independent accommodation.

Jenny says “I am proud to be working with an incredible team of people who are always happy to go out of their way to help when it’s needed”. She is also continually seeking to learn new skills to further enhance her career.

"I have attended a variety of training in support of my role and actively seek new opportunities to increase my skill set."
