Support Assistant – Part Time

Barnsley Floating Support Service, Barnsley

£8.68 per hour (rising to £9.14 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)

21.5 hours per week

We are seeking a Support Assistant with passion and drive to provide support, enabling our clients with a range of complex needs to achieve their potential and live more independently within their community. High Street consists of fully furnished rooms and three flats within a quiet area of Barnsley, where you will work alongside a dedicated staff team with a passion for the work they deliver.

The role of Support Assistant will include:

  • Enabling and empowering clients by providing a high quality, hands on and person centred care and support service
  • Supporting clients to develop their daily living skills including cooking, cleaning, shopping and being an active part of the community
  • Sourcing innovative solutions to problems that allow clients independence to be maximised
  • Working with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve the best outcome for our clients

Skills and experiences:

  • Experience of working with vulnerable people is ideal, however, candidates with enthusiasm, real passion and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to be assertive will be key to your success
  • Ability to prioritise and organise workload, calling upon your strong organisational skills
  • Good listening skills and the ability to solve problems, allowing you to form positive relationships with people
