Ipswich Services has four schemes spread across Ipswich: Cavendish Lodge, Woodbridge Road, Back Hamlet, Gladstone Road. We provide supported housing accommodation and personalised support for adults aged 18 or over, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

30 bedrooms at Cavendish Lodge, including three Rough Sleeper Initiative rooms, and 12 bedrooms spread across Woodbridge Road, Back Hamlet and Gladstone Road.

Staff office on-site at Cavendish Lodge, CCTV and a secure door access system help to ensure residents’ safety and security.

Communal Wi-Fi is available to all residents at Cavendish Lodge.


Everyone is supported to achieve greater independence. Staff draw up a personalised support plan with residents using the Homelessness Outcomes Star model, to help them achieve their aims and goals. Staff support residents to manage and improve their personal safety and improve social, emotional and mental wellbeing. 

Staff availability

Our highly-trained staff are on-site 24 hours a day at Cavendish Lodge, giving residents the peace of mind that support is on-hand. Staff also provide support to residents at Woodbridge Road, Back Hamlet, Gladstone Road as needed.

Tailored support, advice and assistance includes

  • Maintaining a tenancy, managing rent
  • Managing finances (budgeting and benefits)
  • Socialising and community involvement
  • Building confidence, resilience and self-esteem
  • Maintaining health, safety and security
  • Accessing education, training and employment
  • Dealing with correspondence
  • Signposting and accessing other services
  • Planning a successful move-on

To be eligible for a place at one of these Ipswich Services, applicants must: 

  • Be aged 18 or over 
  • Be homeless or at risk of homelessness
  • Require low or medium support and be assessed as low risk

How to apply

To apply, complete Suffolk County Council’s application for housing-related support. All support needs will be assessed before an application is accepted.

To apply for a Rough Sleeper Initiative bedroom at Cavendish Lodge, please contact us to discuss the current referral process.
