We provide community-based floating support to people aged 18 or over, who have learning disabilities and who live in the Mansfield and Ashfield areas of Nottinghamshire.

Support planning

Staff assist clients to complete a flexible and personalised support plan using the Life Star model, to identify their personal goals and live as independently as possible. Our support is fully adaptable to each person’s individual needs and can include telephone support and one-to-one support sessions in the home or local community.

Staff availability

Our highly-trained staff can provide support five days a week, during office hours. Support levels can vary to suit the client’s needs, from just a couple of hours a week, to more frequent and regular levels of support.

  • Managing finances (budgeting and benefits)
  • Accessing education, work and training
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships
  • Developing hobbies and interests
  • Parenting skills
  • Maintaining appropriate behaviour and good communication
  • Building confidence, resilience and self-esteem
  • Socialising and community involvement
  • Signposting and accessing other services

Eligibility

To be eligible for assistance from Corner House Floating Support, applicants must:

  • Be aged 18 or over
  • Have a learning disability
  • Live in Mansfield or Ashfield
  • Be in receipt of a personal budget or privately funded

Our floating support service is run alongside the care and support we provide at our residential care home for people with learning disabilities in the Nottinghamshire area.

How to apply

To apply for support from Corner House Floating Support, please contact Corner House directly, speak to your social worker about getting a referral, or complete the enquiry form below and ask for an application form. We also accept referrals from Nottinghamshire County Council's Local Community Learning Disability Team and Nottingham City Council. All support needs will be assessed before an application is accepted.
