About us

Located in a quiet area of Prenton, Tollemache Road is a purpose-designed respite care home with 10 en-suite bedrooms. We provide short-term respite care and support for adults aged 18 and over, with a range of learning and physical disabilities, and complex or high needs.

The service is staffed 24 hours a day, providing a safe, supportive and structured environment where people can maintain their daily routines and feel confident their wellbeing and personal care are being looked after.

We provide flexible respite options, including day and overnight stays, with the option for longer bookings subject to availability.

Free Wi-Fi throughout the service. Integrated emergency pull cord alarm system throughout. Accessible bathrooms and sliding track hoists are available. Bed sensors and personal pendant alarms can be added as required.

Assisted living single bed room, using a pastel yellow and floral accessories allowing some of the outside in. The room also has a small bucket armchair and wall mounted television.
Green, orange, pink and purple bean bags places in a cosy angled room decorated with calming outdoor wallpaper, showcasing a blue sky and wildflower field. As well as having a large sky light to add to the outdoor nature theme.
State of the art industrial styled kitchen, featuring all stainless steel appliances and a grey resin floor creating a monochrome look.
The slab paving walkway around the property includes a secure wooden shed and access to a sloped elevated garden which has been secured by a black metal fence.

Am I eligible?

If a family member, friend, or carer supports you, we can provide flexible day or overnight stays to give everyone the opportunity for a well-earned break. For assistance with funding, you may need to have been assessed as needing overnight breaks. Please give us a call to discuss your individual circumstances and how we can help.  

You may be eligible for a respite place at Tollemache Road, if you: 

  • Are aged 18 and over

  • Have a learning disability or significant cognitive impairment and require ongoing care and support 

How do I apply?

We accept direct applications from families and carers as well as referrals from local authorities, including Wirral Council. All care and support needs will be assessed before an application is accepted. Contact us for more information or to request an application formation form
