About us
Merrick House has 12 bedrooms in a shared house. We provide support for adults aged 18 and over, who have been homeless and rough sleeping in Eastbourne and Hastings.
- Staff on-site 24 hours a day
- Short-term supported housing for up to 12 weeks
- Communal facilities including a kitchen, lounge, bathroom and roof terrace

Location
A residential area of St Leonards-on-Sea, within walking distance of shops, leisure facilities and public transport links.
Accommodation type
12 furnished bedrooms spread over three floors of a shared house.
Communal areas
A kitchen on each floor, a lounge, bathrooms and laundry room, and a roof terrace.
Safety and security
A staff office on-site, CCTV and a secure door access system help to ensure residents’ safety and security.
Technology
Free Wi-Fi available to all residents in communal areas. We can provide assistive technology for additional safety and reassurance, which can be purchased at additional cost.
Rental agreement type
All bedrooms are let on am excluded licence agreement.

Am I eligible?
To be eligible for a place at Merrick House, applicants must:
- Be aged 18 or over
- Be homeless and rough sleeping in Eastbourne or Hastings
How do I apply?
We expect all residents to actively participate in addressing any issues or barriers that may be stopping them from sustaining long term accommodation placements.
All referrals are processed by the Rough Sleepers Initiative Housing Specialist and the housing options teams at Eastbourne Borough Council and Hastings Borough Council. All support needs will be assessed before an application is accepted.
