About us
The Lookout is a mental health crisis service in Hampshire for adults aged 18 and over. It offers short-term supported accommodation in a psychologically informed environment that takes into account the emotional and psychological needs of each person. Initial placements are for up to seven days, and may be extended upon review up to 28 days.
Developed in partnership with Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB, and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, The Lookout delivers holistic support and interventions in a safe space.
Based on the 5 Ways to Wellbeing; connect, be active, take notice, keep learning, give, our experienced team design structured activities to minimise the pressures and stresses of daily life, and give clients the opportunity to reset.
- Staff are on-site 24-hours a day
- Trauma-informed approach to empower and promote long-term outcomes
- Clients only need to bring themselves and any personal care items - everything else, including meals and bedding, is provided

Am I eligible?
To be eligible for a place at The Lookout, applicants must be:
- Over 18 and willing to work with secondary mental health services
- Living in Hampshire or the Isle of Wight
How do I apply?
Referrals are only accepted from the Hampshire Crisis Team.
All support needs will be assessed before an application is accepted. The Lookout team will respond to all referrals within 48-72 hours, but cannot guarantee that a bed will be immediately available.
