We want your space to feel like your own during your time here. When you move in it will be equipped with the essentials you’ll need, but we encourage you to make it your own by adding your own furnishings, bedding, and personal items.
We will give you a welcome pack and sit with you to order some items that you may need such as bedding, towels or pots and pans.
You will have your own key to your bedroom. Our staff will not enter without your permission, except:
- where you have given consent for access in certain circumstances;
- there is an emergency;
- there is serious concern about your welfare
We will discuss this with you at your Sign-Up meeting.

The License agreement is an agreement between you and Sanctuary Supported Living.
It sets out everyone’s responsibilities to make sure that your time with us is enjoyable. It includes information about:
- The property
- What Sanctuary must do as your landlord, e.g., keep the home in good condition
- Any rent or service charge that you must pay

We will explain the license agreement and any other related information in the Sign-Up meeting. We will explain how we will support you to maintain your home including the steps we will take if you are not meeting the terms of your agreement.
If at anytime you have questions about your license agreement please speak with your Keyworker. You can also speak to Citizens Advice for impartial advice by calling 0800 144 8848.
Use of CCTV
For your safety and wellbeing we use CCTV in the entryway and outside of your home. It is viewed if there is an incident in your home and this will only be viewed by the people that support you. There is a process in place for this to be viewed by other parties such as the police which your Key Worker will explain to you for you to agree with when you move in.
Please ask any member of staff if you would like more information about our Video Surveillance Management Systems policy.
What to do if you go missing
When you move in we'll give you the phone number for the home so you can save it on your phone. This way, you'll have direct access to us whenever you feel lost or to let us know if you won't be able to return as planned. We're here to support you, and you can reach out to us anytime.
When you move in we will discuss with you our duty of care and how often we will contact you if you are away from home. We will complete a missing persons risk assessment and profile. This will include details about who we will contact if we are worried you have gone missing. We will also ask your permission to take a photo so we can share this with any relevant authorities if we are worried.
If we cannot contact you and are worried about your safety, we will agree a series of actions to take. These could include:
- Contacting next of kin
- Checking hospitals
- Informing social services
- Contacting police
Our primary concern in such situations is your safety, and we will take appropriate actions to ensure that you receive the necessary support.
In order to help maintain your safety we ask that you:
- Let us know when you are going out and an estimate of when you will be back.
- Answer any messages or phone calls from us so we can keep in contact.
- Call or message us if you are worried or lost while out and about. We can help you get home.
