Sanctuary Supported Living’s Plymouth Domestic Abuse Services (PDAS) is expected to see a boost in fundraising support for its clients after being named as Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital’s charity of the year for 2022.

Nuffield Health has pledged to raise much needed funds for PDAS, which provides outreach support, safe houses and a women’s refuge for domestic abuse survivors.

Merika Kindlon, Head of Sales and Services at Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital, said: “Our staff forum voted unanimously to support PDAS as our charity for 2022. Many colleagues spoke passionately about the charity and the invaluable role it plays within our city of Plymouth in supporting women, men, and children who experience domestic violence. We shall do our very best to raise funds and support in the raising of awareness of domestic violence.”

PDAS Local Service Manager Katy Fisher said: “We’re so thrilled that Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital has chosen PDAS as its charity for 2022. Any additional funding really goes a long way and makes a big difference to the people we support. Quite often victims of domestic abuse leave their homes with nothing and so we support them in every way to get back on their feet- this money will go towards the practical things individuals and families need to rebuild their lives.”
