Jenny Begley

Jenny Begley with a resident from Norman Russell House

Jenny Begley has spent her entire career working in health and social care, and has been with Sanctuary Supported Living since June 2015.

Starting out initially as a support worker at Shaftesbury Court learning disabilities care home in Winslow, Jenny worked her way up to become Deputy Local Service Manager at Norman Russell House in Milton Keynes.

At Norman Russell House, Jenny Begley worked closely to support residents with mental health needs including Jenny Doyle, who wrote a blog about her mental health journey, and who credited the personalised support she received from Jenny with helping her to move on and live independently.

In late 2019, Jenny was promoted to Local Service Manager for two services in Aylesbury: Pennefather Court, a residential care home which provides accommodation, care and support for adults with a range of physical disabilities, learning disabilities and acquired brain injuries; and Tring Road, a supported housing service for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

As part of her new role, Jenny is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and is in charge of organising the range of tailored care and support provided by her team at Pennefather Court. Jenny and her team also provide Tring Road residents with the support they need to develop their self-confidence and life skills, including managing their finances and maintaining a tenancy, so that they can live as independently as possible.

Running two busy services for residents with very different support needs means that every day is different for Jenny. She said, “I am proud to be working with an incredible team of people who are always happy to go out of their way to help when it’s needed. It makes me so happy to see the positive difference that we can make to residents’ lives.”
