About us

Southend Young People Supported Housing has three schemes spread across the borough of Southend-on-Sea, offering a total of 22 bedrooms in shared houses, 11 one-bedroom flats and two shared two-bedroom flats. We provide support for young people, aged 16 to 25, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Stanier House has 14 fully-furnished bedrooms, Centurion House has eight fully-furnished bedrooms and one self-contained flat, and Mallard Court has 10 fully-furnished one-bedroom flats and two shared two-bedroom flats.

Communal areas

Stanier House has three kitchens, a lounge, three shower rooms, a bathroom, laundry room and garden. Centurion House has a laundry area, lounge, meeting room and garden. Mallard Court Flats has no communal space.

Staff office on-site, CCTV and a secure door access system to ensure residents’ safety and security.

We can provide assistive technology for extra safety and reassurance, which can be purchased at additional cost.

Rental agreement type

All single bedrooms are let on a licence agreement and all self-contained flats are let on an assured shorthold tenancy agreement.

To be eligible for a place at Southend Young People Supported Housing, applicants must:

  • Be aged 16 to 25
  • Be homeless or at risk of homelessness
