Our Resident Advisory Panel (RAP) is made up of 12 Sanctuary residents (tenants or owners) from a variety of backgrounds. The people on the panel advise Sanctuary’s Executive Team and Group Board, helping us to include customers’ views when deciding on new strategies, policies and ways of working. 

The Resident Advisory Panel will run alongside our Resident Scrutiny Panel (RSP). The input of both the Resident Advisory Panel and the Resident Scrutiny Panel helps us to better meet the needs of our residents, and ensure we’re providing the quality homes you deserve. 

The people who make up Sanctuary’s Resident Scrutiny Panel (RSP) review the impact of our decisions after they have been made. RSP members represent residents from across all of Sanctuary’s services, and come from a range of diverse backgrounds, needs and experiences.  

The Resident Scrutiny Panel members attend monthly meetings and typically commit about two hours a week to take part. Any Sanctuary Supported Living resident is eligible to join, as long as you are not: 

• A member of the Board or Committee or involved in governance related activities e.g. Trustees, Sanctuary in Rochford Committee 

• An employee of Sanctuary or any of its subsidiaries 

• In breach of any tenancy or lease conditions

The Sanctuary Residents’ Academy is a course for residents to develop knowledge and skills for scrutiny. Working with the Chartered Institute of Housing, Sanctuary Residents’ Academy is a formal, Level 2 qualification. 

To gain the qualification, you would have to complete three modules, each with an online tutorial taught by our in-house teams or external experts, with an assignment. As well as giving you the skills and confidence to hold Sanctuary to account, this qualification can also support employment opportunities.

Communities of Interest views hold us accountable for how our services perform, and can help shape specific services or our approach to business.

The Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) regulates landlords like us to check that we’re providing good housing and quality of service, and that we’re efficient and running things well. 

Tenant Satisfaction Measures (TSMs) are a new part of the RSH’s regulatory approach, aimed at making it easier for people to find out how good a landlord is, and see which landlords are better at looking after customers and their homes. That’s why it’s really important that we know what matters to our customers when it comes our housing provision.
