After first joining Sanctuary as an apprentice, Jeremy soon secured a full-time role with the Group and has progressed to become the Care Quality Commission (CQC) Co-ordinator for Sanctuary  Supported Living.

The CQC is the independent regulator of health and social care services in England. Jeremy’s role sees him ensuring registrations and applications to the CQC are correct and up-to-date, producing reports to senior management, collating all correspondence between SRL and the CQC and providing support and guidance to SRL’s CQC-registered managers.

Having always wanted to work in the care industry, Jeremy describes the opportunity to carry out such an important role as a “huge personal achievement” and one he finds extremely rewarding.

Jeremy said: “Although I do not work at a scheme level or deliver hands-on care myself, I know that the work I do here directly impacts on residents.

“I am part of a wider team, all working together to deliver a better quality of life, helping people live independently and continue to achieve in their lives.”

After previously working in retail, Jeremy began his career with Sanctuary as an Apprentice Administrator in the Care Business Services Team.

The apprenticeship programme taught him everything from the basics of how to use computer programmes through to sector knowledge about care providers and the legal requirements that need to be met when delivering services.

Jeremy also gained invaluable insight and experience while assisting in organising a managers conference and, after progressing to become an Advanced Apprentice Administrator, secured a full-time position as a Team Administrator.

After a year in that role, while completing his apprenticeship in his own time, Jeremy successfully applied to become Team Secretary in the Contracts and Support Team.

Further progression to the role of Assistant Business Support Officer within the same team followed before Jeremy was appointed to his current role.

Jeremy commented: “I have enjoyed every step on my Sanctuary career path and have received only the best support and guidance to help me achieve the position I am in now.

“Sanctuary has given me all the training I need to progress in the organisation and I leave every day with a sense of achievement and fulfilment.”
