The sizeable extension floods natural light into the seating area. The angled glass panelled roof and oversized windows on every exterior wall. The furniture consists of four light brown coloured bucket armchairs surround a small coffee table in the middle of the room, two olive green plush arm chairs tuck neatly into the window and a two person lilac sofa sits opposite them.
The spacious dining room is home to multiple dining tables dressed in white linen cloths and matching chairs with cream and aubergine coloured leather upholstery. The tables are dressed with leather placemats, silver cutlery.
A warm and inviting kitchen area, featuring oak wood cabinetry with white painted walls and earthy brown and grey toned wall tiles. The wall mounted oven, extractor fan and sink are all in chrome which reflects the light perfectly. The room is finished with high end silver cooking utensils along the worktops.
A relaxing bedroom with a centrally placed double bed with cream headboard, white bedding a cream and brown throw over and matching decorative cushions. Two oak wooden side tables sit either side of the bed and a complementing oak chest of draws are angled in the corner, leaving plenty of floor space to manoeuvre around.
A classically designed hair salon area. Two large, elongated mirrors with thin wooden framing are the main feature of the room. Two plush black styling chairs are located in front of the mirror. Two hair washing basins sit opposite the styling area.
The simplistic garden area has paved stone walkways around the perimeter of the property. With the minimal grassed areas the space is home to three benched seating areas.

Our building

Poplar House has a communal lounge, restaurant, guest suite, hair salon, library, games room and a landscaped garden. There are lifts to all floors and level access throughout.

Your apartment

Your new apartment is unfurnished so you can make it your own. It has an open plan lounge and fitted kitchen, one or two double bedrooms and a level-access shower room.

The daytime reception, 24-hour care staff on site and secure door entry to the building and your apartment help you to feel safe and secure.

There is Wi-Fi in communal areas. Pull cords are fitted in every apartment, and we can provide assistive technology for extra safety and reassurance, which can be purchased at additional cost.

Apartments are available to rent for one person or two people. You may be eligible for financial assistance towards your rent from Basildon Borough Council. Leasehold apartments may also be available for private purchase from a current owner.

Restaurant and dining

Our Taste restaurant is open to residents and members of the public from 9am – 3pm seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and snacks. If you live nearby, enjoy a meal out in our restaurant with your family and friends.

We regularly have special menus to celebrate special occasions throughout the year and our Taste restaurant has a food hygiene rating of 5 from the Food Standards Agency.

  1. Contact us for an application form, or contact Basildon Borough Council’s adult social care team.
  2. We’ll arrange for you to visit and meet us.
  3. We’ll help you to complete a housing assessment and affordability form, as you may be eligible for financial assistance towards your rent and part of your service charge.
  4. While you’re here, we may assess if you would benefit from our care and support services, and we may arrange to visit you at home to discuss your needs. For your care to be funded by Basildon Borough Council, you must have had your needs assessed and approved by the adult social care team.
