Located less than a mile away from the charming and historic city of Ely, Baird Lodge provides apartments and communal facilities for over 55s.

Designed to offer comfort, independence and peace of mind, Baird Lodge has everything you need to enjoy a happy, fulfilling retirement.

At Baird Lodge, you'll find:

Our building

Baird Lodge has a comfortable communal lounge, restaurant, quiet reading room, guest suite, visiting hairdresser and landscaped garden for residents to enjoy. There are lifts to all floors and level access throughout.

Your apartment

Your new apartment is unfurnished so you can make it your own. It has an open plan lounge and fitted kitchen, one bedroom and a level-access shower room.

The daytime reception, 24-hour care staff on site and secure door entry to the building and your apartment help you to feel safe and secure.

Technology

There is Wi-Fi in communal areas. Pull cords are fitted in every apartment, and optional assistive technology is available to complement your lifestyle. This can be purchased at an additional cost.

Rent or leasehold icon

Renting

Apartments are available to rent for one person or two people. You may be eligible for financial assistance towards your rent from Cambridgeshire County Council. There are no leasehold apartments available.

Restaurant and dining

Our on-site restaurant is open to residents and visitors from 9am-3pm, seven days a week* for breakfast, lunch and snacks.  

We can also cater for your guests, if booked in advance, so you can enjoy a meal with your friends and family.

We regularly have special menus to celebrate special occasions throughout the year and our restaurant has a food hygiene rating of 5 from the Food Standards Agency.

Pricing

You may be eligible for financial support, such as Housing Benefit or Universal Credit, to help cover your rent and part of your service charge.

For guidance, the indicative weekly costs at Baird Lodge are shown below. Charges can be paid weekly or monthly in advance.

How do I apply?
 

  1. Contact us for an application form or contact Cambridgeshire County Council.
  2. We’ll arrange for you to visit and meet us.
  3. We’ll help you to complete a housing assessment and affordability form, as you may be eligible for financial assistance towards your rent and part of your service charge.
  4. While you’re here, we may assess if you would benefit from care and support services, and the on-site care provider may arrange to visit you at home to discuss your needs. For your care to be funded by Cambridgeshire County Council, you must have had your needs assessed and approved by the adult social care team.
