Nickleby Road has 18 bedrooms spread across five shared houses, providing supported housing with personal care. Berwick Avenue has three bedrooms in a shared house, providing a short-term move-on service for residents who have lower support needs. Staff support adults aged 18 to 65, with a range of learning disabilities.

All the shared houses have a lounge, dining room, kitchen and bathroom. Residents also have access to an activity room and a large shared garden.

Staff office on-site, an out-of-hours service and secure door access system help to ensure residents feel safe and secure.

Care and support planning

Staff draw up a personalised care and support plan with residents using the Life Star model, with the aim of moving on to independent living.

Staff availability

Our highly-trained staff are available to contact at the main Nickleby Road service for various hours, seven days a week. Staff are also on stand-by outside of these hours, should residents require any further support.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a place at Nickleby Road, applicants must:

  • Be aged 18 to 65
  • Have a learning disability
  • Require a minimum of 5 hours care and support per week

How to apply

To apply, please complete the enquiry form below and ask for an application form. We also accept referrals from Essex County Council’s adult social care team.
