Located on the Ipswich waterfront, Avalon Court has 14 self-contained apartments for adults with a physical disability or learning disability. We provide long-term personal care and support for residents aged 18 or over, who have physical or learning disabilities.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the national independent regulator of all health and social care services in England. They inspect and monitor care homes, nursing homes and supported housing where personal care is provided and produce reports about them, to help you find a service that suits you.

14 unfurnished one-bedroom apartments, each with a lounge, balcony, bedroom with overhead hoist, accessible wet room, hallway with wheelchair charging bay, and accessible kitchen.

Staff office on site and a secure door access system to ensure residents' safety and security.

Assistive technology

Assistive technology

An integrated emergency pull cord alarm system, hoist system and door sensors help residents to maintain independence. Personal pendant alarms are available.

All apartments are let on an assured shorthold tenancy agreement.

Care and support planning

Staff work with residents to create a personalised care and support plan, using the Life Star model. Residents receive a minimum of six hours' care and support a week.

Our highly-trained staff are on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, giving residents peace of mind that support is always on-hand.

To be eligible for a place at Avalon Court, applicants must:

  • Be aged 18 or over
  • Have a physical disability or learning disability
  • Require a minimum of six hours' care and support per week

How to apply

We accept referrals from Ipswich Borough Council. All care and support needs will be assessed before an application is accepted.

If I want to do anything, I just talk to my keyworker and we work out how I can do it.
