Set three miles from the town centre of Bury St Edmunds, Hilltop House has 12 unfurnished one-bedroom flats. We provide care and support for adults aged 18 and over, with a range of physical disabilities.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the national independent regulator of all health and social care services in England. They inspect and monitor care homes, nursing homes and supported housing where personal care is provided and produce reports about them, to help you find a service that suits you.

Twelve unfurnished one-bedroom flats with en-suite toilets all on one floor. There is level access throughout the building and garden.

Care and support

Staff draw up personalised care and support plans with our residents using the Life Star model. We provide care and support for residents with physical disabilities, as well as supporting with any additional learning disabilities or other needs.

The person-centred care and support provided at Hilltop House was recognised at the Great British Care Awards 2019 (East region), where the service won the Putting People First / Personalisation category.

Tailored support, advice and assistance includes

  • Cooking, cleaning and shopping

  • Signposting and accessing other services

Staff availability

Our highly-trained staff are on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week, giving residents peace of mind that assistance is always on-hand.


To be eligible for a place at Hilltop House, applicants must:

  • Be 18 years or over
  • Have a physical disability
  • Require a minimum of 21 hours care per week

We also accept referrals from West Suffolk Council, please speak to your social worker to start the application process.

All care and support needs will be assessed before an application is accepted.
