Sanctuary Supported Living is celebrating the publication of its latest Care Quality Commission report for a mental health service in Middlesbrough, which keeps up the provider’s 100% record for ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ ratings across its supported housing services.

Bransby Court and Roxby Avenue which provides short-term supported housing and personalised support for young adults and older people with physical disabilities, learning disabilities and a range of mental health needs, achieved ‘Good’ across every area of inspection - safety, effectiveness, care, responsiveness, and leadership. The CQC report highlighted that the service “worked hard to instil a culture of care in which staff truly valued and promoted individuality.”

Other notable mentions included that the service assessed, monitored and managed safety well, and empowered people to make their own decisions about their care and support.

This was reiterated by a resident, who said: “The staff are good fun and kind. They are respectful and only do the things I want. I spend my days doing what I want, I am in charge.” The report noted that the resident had the opportunity to try new experiences, develop new skills and gain independence.

"We work hard to develop our practises and build on the care we deliver".

Local Service Manager, Helen Simpson

Local Service Manager, Helen Simpson, said “We’re delighted to see the CQC’s report recognise the value we place on delivering high-quality, person-centred care. I’m proud of the team and their dedication to creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere.

“We work hard to develop our practises and build on the care we deliver. As the report states, residents play a key role in the development of their service, and any feedback from them is important to us so we can further tailor our services to their wants and needs.”
